Before you invest thousands of dollars on a new or upgraded security system, let a Safer Places consultant help ensure it’s the right system for your current and future needs. We’ll ask you all the right questions to be sure the system is designed according to how you will use it. Our designs are always site-specific and based on the client’s needs and budget. We provide a design specification, project drawings and a scope of work.
Our complete RFP package includes assistance with distributing the RFP to only contractors who maintain factory trained and certified technicians to install and program the specified products. We assist our clients in awarding the contract to the contractor who has proposed the best value (not always the lowest price). We then monitor the entire process which includes responding to Requests for Information (RFI’s), making sure the system is installed on time and on budget and in accordance with the specifications. A final inspection includes a walk-thru with the client and the installer. Everyone signs off on our comprehensive check-list before the client pays the final invoice.
The experts at Safer Places will assist you with a review of your current policies and procedures or we can develop individual policies and/or a complete manual. Examples: Visitor management, Video surveillance system management, active shooter, guard patrol plans, etc.
The next time you go out to bid for contract guard services, let the experts at Safer Places assist you with the development of a comprehensive bid specifications and RFP package. We’ll start by asking you all the right questions to help determine exactly what you need for your guard contractor to provide and how they will need to perform in order to be successful at your location. We’ll help identify qualified contractors, review the proposals for you and provide an executive summary, saving you from the tedious job of reading lengthy proposals. We can also assist with scheduling presentations and interviews as well as checking references.
A Safer Places consultant will review your guard force contract requirements, make independent inspections to assure contract compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
A Safer Places consultant will review your property and the physical aspects of your security including video surveillance, access control systems, fencing, lighting, alarms, guard staffing and deployment, and more. This often will include interviews with various stakeholders such as owners, managers, employees, residents of apartment or condo complexes, police officials and more. A comprehensive written report including recommendations is provided.
Safer Places will customize a single training class or full program to meet your needs. Examples include: Front desk/receptionist security training, street smarts, personal safety, workplace violence, active shooter, guard force training and more.
This service is often combined with our physical security survey and takes a look at crime statistics in the general area as well as a Calls for Service report from your police department detailing the days, times and nature of calls for service from your property. Our analyses of these statistics include identifying trends and making recommendations to mitigate areas of concern.
If you don’t have a contact at your local police department that will respond quickly when you have a question or need to strategize a solution for a new issue, we will help you develop that relationship. Many of our clients now meet regularly with a patrol sergeant or community relations officer from their local police department, who gets to know the property, makes helpful suggestions and even notifies the manager/owner proactively when situations involving the property arise.
Over the years, we’ve developed several consulting packages that combine many of the services outlined on this page. For example, our Residential Complex package includes: a resident survey, crime statistics and calls for service report analysis, physical security survey and police liaison services. Our Workplace package includes an employee survey, physical security survey and a workplace violence workshop. We can also customize a package for most any need.
