In an active shooter situation, how quickly police can respond and how information is gathered and disseminated is crucial to saving lives.

In my role as security consultant, I recently had the opportunity to visit the folks at Shooter Detection Systems in Rowley, MA for a demonstration of their product.  The consulting division of Safer Places is often tasked with devising plans to make our clients’ properties and employees safer.  Our recommendations may include policy & procedures changes, employee training and/or deploying technology.  Knowing where the shooter is located is vital to the responding police officers as well as to building occupants who need to decide if they can safely exit the premises without running into the shooter. Technology now exists that can pinpoint exactly where/when a shot is fired and provide that information instantly to both police and building occupants.  CLICK HERE to see a video clip from NBC Today Show demonstrating how this technology will save lives.  Contact the consulting division at Safer Places to see how technology may be able to keep your employees, tenants, students, etc. safer.
